Giancarlo Carmona currently plays for Argentinian outfit San Lorenzo after impressing during a two-year spell with Universitario. He earned his first international cap in 2011 and has since earned five more, as he bids to cement the right-back spot in the Peru national side.
Like many of the best Peruvian footballers, Edison Flores began his career with Universitario, where he continues to learn his trade. The talented 18-year-old broke into the first team in 2011 and scored three goals in four appearances for Peru at Under-17 level. It won’t be too much longer before he earns his first senior cap.

Felipe Andres Coronel
Although raised in Harlem,Felipe Andres Coronel – now better known by the stage name ‘Immortal Technique’ – was born in Lima. He has worked with some of the biggest names in hip hop during his career including Mos Def and Krs-One, while his lyrics often focus on controversial issues in global politics.
Nathalie Kelley might be considered an Australian actress but she was, in fact, born in Lima to a Peruvian mother and Argentine father. The 27-year-old has starred in several movies, including ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’ and was also the love interest in a music video featuring Bruno Mars.
Classical music composer
An award-winning classical music composer from Lima, Jimmy Lopez is a successful figure from the Peruvian capital. His pieces have been composed by notable orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony and Fort Worth Symphony.
The current World Boxing Association champion in the Super Featherweight class, Kina Malpartida is one mean fighting machine. Her mother is English, but Kina is very much Peruvian, and she boasts a record of 14 victories from 17 fights.
Diego Pizarro has a lot to live up to. The 21-year-old is the younger brother of Peru international, Claudio, who has played for several big European clubs including Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Diego Pizarro currently plays for Cienciano in his native Peru.
Ani Rodríguez rose to prominence in 2012 after appearing on reality television show, ‘Yo Soy’, when she performed as the late British singer Amy Winehouse. The 22-year-old is the spitting image of the English singer-songwriter, who died in 2011 at the age of just 27, and sounds like her too.
