Dato Chan Tien Ghee – This previously-based Malaysian businessman is now the current owner of Championship football club Cardiff City. With a strong background within the football industry it was always a dream of his to one day own a major football club and he now achieved that. Cardiff are one of the up and coming sides in English football and the chairman looks to be in line to make a huge profit on his investment if Cardiff gain promotion to the lucrative Premier League.
Max Broadfield – Despite being only 20-years-old, Max already has had plenty of business success with Crazyplay, a branded play area company that are educational, fun and get children active. His work has spread like wildfire throughout gyms and crèche’s in Cardiff and will soon be pushed into wider areas of the UK.
Gareth Morgan – A one man marketing/business guru, who has set up successful consultancy agency Liberty Marketing in 2008. He quickly spotted a gap in the market to offer outsourced online marketing services to businesses throughout Wales and four years later the company is a big hit and now employ’s over 20 search engine marketing specialists, with clients all over the globe and have over 120 regular monthly projects, making it one of the largest internet marketing agencies in the country and the largest in Wales.
Leanne Eustace – Leanne and her husband set up their own accountancy business in a bedroom at their Cardiff home in 2006 and since then the pair have established some hard-hitting contacts within the industry and have subsequently been hired by some big firms to look after their finances.
Kieran Owens – Kieran was just 16 years old when he started up his own online fashion business Junk Trunk Clothing. It has become a fashion phenomenon within younger circles of fashion followers in Wales and has the slogan ‘we want people to embrace the unconventional, odd and original’.
Mazuma was founded by Lucy Cohen and Sophie Hughes in 2006 to specialise in providing remote accountancy services to small businesses across the UK after they spotted a gap in the market for a low cost, hassle-free accountancy service.
In 2009 the company expanded and now services the whole of the UK from The Hub in Bridgend, employing around 20 staff. There are also 3 other regional offices across the UK. Dealing with millions of transactions a year Mazuma has thousands of customers across the
UK and USA, making it one of the fastest growing accountancy services in the UK.
Liam Giles –After a failed career in becoming a professional rugby player Liam decided to turn his arm to business and started up his own web design and development agency in Cardiff after studying product design at Uwic.Spindogs is widely regarded as the leader in website design within the area and have built up a strong client base in Dublin and London.
James Robinson –James is managing director of Cardiff-based media planning and buying agency Zeffa. Since its inception Arriva Trains Wales, Cardiff Council and the Wales Millennium Centre all have signed up with the quirky firm, who also have a strong social media presence.
Joe Brown – Joe runs his own branding studio, Designdough, in Cardiff Bay. Despite only being registered three years ago, Designdough, has already successfully negotiated contracts with local authorities, the Welsh Government, charities and SMEs.
Shazia Awan – Peachy Pink is a leading brand for women, offering a range of more than 100 shaping solutions from jeans. Shazia is the founder of the brand which is already being sold in major outlets across the UK like Debenhams and House of Fraser.
Tim Duggan – As the founder and director Oprema, a distribution company of high definition and analogy CCTV systems in Cardiff, Duggan has been the driving force behind the success of the business. In his first year of trading he turned over £480,000.
Jason Stallard – Jason’s Hengoed-based online marketing agency, Strive Media, specialises in search engine optimisation, social media and online marketing consultancy. It has rapidly become the market leader in that field for the Cardiff area.
Gareth Lloyd – Cardiff born Gareth hit the ground running ever since being recruited to work in the investment team of property advisers Knight Frank last year. Although not regarded as a big success yet he certainly has the potential to go a long way in the business world.
